We lightly oiled the inside of the cover with machine oil to prevent flash rusting. We did not paint the underside of this timing chain cover. There are no dings, dents or residual rust pitting on the front of this cover.

This OEM engine timing chain cover was salvaged earlier this year from a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine series V donor car with engine number B395006135. We lightly oiled the backside of the timing chain cover to prevent it from flash rusting.
