This is a vintage New Process A-833 manual transmission that was used in Mopar applications. This is a 4 speed transmission with 4 gear being an overdrive. I believe this overdrive style transmission was first used by Mopar in the late 70's and continued through the early 80's. I believe the original application for this transmission was 2 wheel drive trucks and possibly passenger cars. That said, the dimensions are the same as many 60's-70's Mopar cars and many have used these transmissions to upgrade their earlier car to overdrive. Please confirm your specific application.

This transmission looks to be in good original condition as shown. I see no breaks, repairs, or modifications to this transmission. The case and tail are very clean and still show factory inspection marks as shown. I imagine this would clean up even better with some time. All threads are in good condition. I removed the side cover and every think looks to be intact inside. I see no broken or chipped gears. The gears all look quite nice inspection marks intact. The syncro and engagement teeth looks very nice. The transmission spins freely BUT SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. The sliders move into ever gear but first and when put in any gear but neutral the transmission will not spin. It seems to be locked in first gear at all times. I am not sure if this is a big deal or not. I am selling this as a very clean core for rebuilding.   Don't miss this awesome original Mopar A-833 overdrive transmission.
