This oil feed hose/line connects to the VANOS System from Cylinder Head, providing oil to the variable value system on the M52, M52tu (technical update), S52 (USA), and M54 engines, as offered in model years 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and (some) 2006 models. Each of these engines uses one of these oil lines.
