This is a third member out of a Ford 9 inch rearend with 31 spline axles. This center section has 32 teeth on the ring gear and 7 teeth on the pinion gear which makes the gear ration 4.57:1 which is more commonly referred to as 4.56 gearing. The differential is the traction lock limited slip type. This third member will fit all 9 inch rearends with 31 spline axles. Please confirm your specific application.

This third member is in good condition as shown. I personally just removed this from a complete 9 inch rearend. I was told this unit had low miles on a rebuild which was evident upon inspection of the axles which still had freshly pack grease in the bearings and the gear oil looked very fresh. This unit spins over smoothly with no binding or sloppiness. This is a very nice 4.56 3rd member with a limited slip differential.
