This engine and transmission runs excellent and is perfect for streetrod project or replacement. The Caprice LS2 is an all aluminum 6.0 Liter engine. Similar to the configuration found in Pontiac's G8 .  The Caprice has excellent accessory placement making it a great choice for hot rod applications. This is THE MUST HAVE engine!! The LS series engines, which this is based on, have proven themselves extremely versitile and reliable in both Corvette and F-Body platforms. We have sold over 1000 LS1 engines in the past three years!   This is for the builder who wants the best.

SIX SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION, best of BOTH worlds!

The Hydra-Matic 6L80e is a 6 speed, clutch-to-clutch, rear wheel drive, electronic controlled transmission. The planetary gear sets provide the six forward gear ratios and reverse. The changing gear ratios is fully automatic and is accomplished through the use of a transmission control module located inside the transmission. The TCM receives and monitors various electronic sensor inputs and uses this information to shift the transmission at the optimum time. This is very similar to the trans in the C6 Corvette. Can be configured for manual shift (clutchless or paddle)
