#1C Vtg Ford Late model V8 Ford 8N Tractor Tool Kit Barcalo Buffalo Screwdriver

I believe this screwdriver was apart of the original Tool Kits for the Ford V8’s and later Ford models, and the Ford 8N, series Tractors.

I believe the screwdriver was originally introduced as A 17020 in 1928. The Screwdriver was renamed to B 17020 in 1932 (with no design changes) and was supplied with all Ford vehicles through early 1946, and was available at least through 1953.

This screwdriver is the later version introduced in 1945, which allowed vendor suppliers to change from a riveted ferrule to a crimped ferrule, and the reduced size of the steel shaft from 9/32 to 1/4” in dim, and reduced the wood handle size from 1 1/8” dim to 1 1/16” dim.

This screwdriver has the shaft going thru the handle, and is stamped with the B on the blade, I believe for Barcalo Buffalo Tool Company, and isapprox. 8 1/4” overall in length.

The screwdriver is in good condition for the era, and has been lightly cleaned,…..the wood is solid and was rubbed coated with black paint for protection,...,…..…the blade tip ----was filed on way back when,……..……As with the vintage of the screwdriver, there is some normal wear, a few dings, and scratches, and some discoloration, as noted from the photos.
