Used OEM Ford Mustang shifter knob. This would be correct for a late production 1969, or would have been a OEM replacement from Ford parts offered for a 1968.
This OEM shift knob has the steel threaded insert. It is in very good condition, with very minimal wear to the brown surface, I do not see any areas that are worn through.
From my research the original knobs of this style on a 1968 Mustang would have a flat top Ʒ.
Ford switched sometime in 1969 to the rounded top 3, which this knob has. OEM replacements offered from Ford dealers in 1969 and into the 1970's would also have the rounded top 3.
