Military Tow Rope - 1" Nylon x 2012 Ft. - bar strap recovery bubba off road 4x4

We have for sale a US Military surplus rope assembly. These were used as one leg of a four leg helicopter lifting sling.   The rope has a rated overhead lifting capacity of 2500 pounds and this is embossed on one of the loop ends.   The capacity for pulling would be much higher than that and any car or pickup truck can be easily pulled free using these.   The ropes we are selling now are either black, green or tan colored and have the appearance of being used very little in the past.

Here's how these  measures up:

None of these ropes are damaged or have had repairs done to them in the past.  No cuts or frays in the rope, no cracks in the rubber ends or wear on the insides of the eyes.   Most will have rust stains on them from being in contact with a rusty chain while in the storage box.   There is a photo showing a typical rust stain on a tan colored rope.   The black ropes tend to cover up the rust spots.   The stains are not large with most being quarter size.   Some of the ropes are faded from the sun.    These ends are weaved into a loop then impregnated under pressure with a hard rubber/epoxy.    A few of the end loops will have paint or writing on them but not excessively and it can be removed.    The rope itself is a premium quality, double weaved nylon.   They will vary in length from 11.5 to 12 feet.   The military calls them twelve feet when taught.   The diameter will range between 7/8" and 1".   Some of the ropes are very stiff and some are limber.   Some of the weaved end loops are slightly different.   None of these characteristics are bad and it is mentioned for you to be aware of in case you buy more than one rope.   They are clean as a pin and are stored in poly sandbags, indoors in sealed bins.   We do not normally treat the ends after they are washed but you can make them look like new with Westley's tire cleaner and Armor All.

These ropes will stretch under load and are great at absorbing shock.   They are very abrasive resistant and are not damaged by contact with oil and fuels.   They have just slightly less working capacity than a Grade 80 9/32" chain, 3100 vs 2500 pounds, but are much easier to work with than chain and are not so easily lost.   When they get dirty and muddy just hose them off and hang them up to dry.    These ropes will not rot.   As long as they are not cut, they will last forever.   You can bet that if the US Military uses these, they are the best available.

This small rope takes up very little room and are great for keeping in a vehicle for emergencies.
