This "sword" is the blower motor resistor used in the early BMW E34s and E32s. It was removed from a 1988 735il and was tested in my 1991 M5. I have a video of the IHKA automatic climate control panel / blower motor working, and also have the IHKA control module and control panel for sale in other listings.
