This appears to be a 1957 Trademaster 265 V8 out of a Chevrolet truck.

The casting number (3731548) comes up as a 1957 283.

But the stamped ID number on the block (FI226L) and the size of the cylinders (3.760 approx.) leads me to believe it is indeed a 265.

No side engine mounts.

This block looks like it was cleaned up and prepared for machining years ago but never finished. Everything is clean, freeze plugs are out and everything is coated with light surface rust. It has been stored indoors all this time.

There is a light ridge on the top of the cylinders that mics out close to the original bore of the engine so I believe this block has never been machined.

I am going through a large engine collection from a machinist and can't possibly get everything checked out. But the fact that he saved the block leads me to believe it is perfectly fine.

I will honor the price paid for 60 days from the day of shipping or pickup of the block if it turns out to be unusable.

I require that it is looked at by a reputable machine shop, provide name and phone number of machine shop and as good of pictures of the issue as possible before I will refund any money.

Pickup in Kansas is encouraged but I am willing to ship freight.
