Used Window Regulators

There are two types of window regulators: manual window regulators and electric window regulators. A manual window regulator consists of several components including a worm gear, spur gears, linkages, a mechanical plate and a bar used to support the glass. The window glass is raised or lowered using a hand crank which, when turned, rotates the worm gear and spur gears. The rotation of the gears moves the mechanical plate, in turn raising or lowering the window bar.

An electric window regulator operates in essentially the same manner as the manual window regulator except that everything is performed electronically. A small electric motor connected to a switch causes rotation of the different gears used to lift or lower the window glass.
