The ABS Combination Valve is a proportioning valve and a pressure differential valve that is combined into one unit and usually located under the master brake cylinder.
The proportioning valve and differential valves are mounted between the master brake cylinder and the rear wheels. The valves adjust the pressure between the front and rear brakes depending on how quickly you are stopping. The faster your vehicle comes to a stop, the more of the vehicle's weight is transferred to the front wheels, increasing the likelihood that the rear wheels will lock up. The valves direct more pressure to the front wheels and less pressure to the rear wheels to help you avoid locking up the rear wheels.
