This is a true vintage Edelbrock TR-2 aluminum tunnel intake manifold for Big Block Chevy engines with rectangular port heads. The part number is TR2 which is cast into the base of the intake as shown. This intake will also fit oval port heads if a rectangular port gasket is used. Please confirm your specific application.

This intake is a real deal vintage speed part. This was removed from a 1955 Chevrolet hot rod with a 427 engine. This intake is known as a "bread box" or "mail box" intake due to the very large plenum. These intakes were very successful drag racing and speed boat units. Their only flaw was the large plenum had a tendency to pool fuel inside and in the event of a backfire turned into a big bomb. This was such an issue that Edelbrock developed a center plate that sandwiched between the base and top to eliminated this issue. This intake has that plate as shown which has been welded to the top plate to eliminated the need to run two separate gaskets.   Finding one of these intakes today is very rare, especially one that has the center plate and had not been exploded and patched back together.

This intake is in very good condition overall. I see not breaks or repairs to this unit. The only modification I see is the center plate being welded to the upper section as mentioned above. This intake has no porting or corrosion. All threads are in good condition with no helicoils or thread inserts. This is simply an awesome vintage tunnel ram intake manifold.

This intake is designed to accept 2 square bore 4 barrel carbs. There are no carburetors included. The last couple pictures show this intake mocked up on a vintage 427 engine with carbs and velocity stacks mounted on it. The carbs and velocity stacks are not included in this listing. That said, I would be happy to sell them to you if you need the carbs, velocity stacks, or both.
