- The highest quality part. It is of low miles and/or exceptional condition for its age.

- The second level quality part. It is of average miles and normal condition for its age.

How does Shipping work?

American Auto Parts only ships to Commercia/Shop addresses within the US continental 48 states. No home/residential deliveries or lift gate services offered. Not all Farm and or Rural addresses are considered Commercial addresses by the freight carriers so an alternate address may be requested.

Freight Shipping: We require a commercial business address to have either a dock or a fork lift on hand to unload the freight truck. We DO NOT ship to residential addresses or offer lift gate service. If you do not have a Commercial/Shop address to ship to we can check to see if there is a local freight terminal in your area for pick up for no additional charge.

Local Pick-up at our facilities in Omaha, Ne is available. Please contact us prior to your purchase to arrange local pick-up. Buyer must select 'Buy It Now' prior to local pick-up.

Please allow 3-5 business days for delivery of your part(s). Most areas within the continental US receive their items within 3-5 business days. No expedited shipping options are available at this time.

If an item arrives damaged, the damage must be noted on the bill of lading at the time of delivery while the driver is present.

Returns

American Auto Parts Return Policy

All Engines and Transmissions come with a 6 0 Day Return policy unless otherwise stated.  The 60 day period starts when you take possession of the part.  We do not cover the cost of labor charges during the installation of your parts.

In the event you receive a part that doesn't fit or work properly, we may ask for additional documents, a digital picture and your vehicle's VIN number so we can properly assist you. Defective items will be required to removed and returned at your expense in order to receive a refund.

For parts that are not defective, but are returned because it's not needed or ordered wrong the customer is responsible to pay for and make arrangements however they wish to get the item returned.

We do offer freight pickup services if you'd like for us to help make the arrangements for you. The fee for freight pickup is $199.00. The item would need to be picked up from the same address in which it was delivered to. NO HOME/Residential addresses accepted.

All Engines & Transmissions come with 90 Day Parts Only Replacement Warranty

At American Auto Parts we do our very best to make sure that with our 90 Day Parts Only Replacement Warranty so you can install our parts with confidence the first time! All Engine and Transmissions are looked over and QC inspected before they even leave our facility. This warranty covers internal failure on the part only, no labor charges to install the part and we are not responsible for any improper installation, misdiagnosis or reprogramming required by a dealer or certified technician. Sensors and all swap able items are not covered under the terms of this warranty.

QC Inspection Process

Our QC process for all engines consists of a complete visual inspection of the engine. During the visual inspection if something is found to be broken or damaged it is removed. Regardless of whether the vehicle was able to be started or not we preform a leak down  pressure test on each cylinder. All wire harnesses, coil packs, spark plug wires and flywheels are considered swap able items and or are recommended to purchase new so they are removed at the time of QC as well to avoid issues.

The QC process for transmission consists of a complete visual inspection of the transmission and we pull the transmission pans and remove the transmission filters to inspect the fluid conditions and to look for foreign debris and or metal. **All serviceable transmission filters are REMOVED and are REQUIRED to be replaced**

Engine Installation Procedures

  • Prior to installation of your used engine from American Auto Parts we require a few steps be taken for the warranty to be valid. Also please note while engines may come with accessories these are not covered under any warranty. Engines are guaranteed against knocking and excessive smoking. Warranty is void if engines heat tab is melted or removed.

  • Pre-Installation Requirements:Drain and replace engine oils to manufacture suggested levels. Replace oil, air and fuel filters. Replace valve cover gaskets. Clean the oil sump screen and pickup tube. Replace oil pan gasket and rear main seal. If needed replace timing gears, chains or belts & gaskets. Replace thermostat & gasket. Flush cooling system and re-fill. Install new spark plugs & wires. Install new belts and hoses. Failure to provide proof any of these steps were not taken may void warranty.

Transmission Installation Procedures

  • Prior to installation of your used transmission from American Auto Parts we require a few steps be taken for the warranty to be valid. Failure to provide proof these steps were taken will void any warranty. (All transmission filters are removed at the time of QC inspection) Pre-Installation requirements: Replace all seals. Install new filter kit. Flush and inspect cooling lines. Align and engage torque converter into front pump. Fill trans with manufacture specified fluid. Clear all transmission computer codes prior to starting or operating vehicle. Adjust throttle position sensor cable as needed. Certain transmissions may need to be programed by your local dealer and or a certified technician.
